FAQ

Is The Black in the current Steam demo?
Amazing Chest’s developer-sponsored parry challenge video places The Black in the Next Fest demo build they played, after a shop node. Always confirm in your own run because trial routing can change between patches.
How do you break The Black’s defense according to preview rules?
Chinese preview notes (July build) say tough enemies show shield icons above the HP bar; each perfect parry removes one icon until a stun state opens higher damage. Red-glow attacks cannot be parried and must be dodged.
Can you parry The Black’s lasers?
Footage shows laser beams and spinning combinations where parries or reflects work on some hits, but the same video warns certain combos become lethal if you counter at the wrong moment. There is no frame-data table yet.
What should you bring into The Black fight in footage?
Amazing Chest recommends entering with a full repair flask and enough revives for the trial. Their run notes four revives in one trial with repair flasks refilling on revive—not necessarily The Black-only tuning.
What boss facts are still missing for The Black?
HP values, weakness tags, phase count, reward tables, and official spelling are not published. This page marks them not confirmed rather than guessing.

Who is The Black in ReBlade: The Death Spiral?

The Black is described as a ghost-like cyborg reaper boss in English preview coverage and appears by that name in community challenge footage of the Steam Next Fest demo. IGN’s first preview calls The Black their favorite boss—a wraith-like cyborg grim reaper among cyber-warlord fights inspired by Chinese myth. ENMNEWS repeats the same highlight after a two-hour demo session.

Spelling here follows English subtitles and press wording, not an in-game codex entry we can quote. If future patches rename the boss, update this page against store strings or patch notes.

Where does The Black appear in demo footage?

After a shop node in Amazing Chest’s parry-only challenge run. Their sponsored Next Fest footage lists The Black as one boss in the trial they played: the route reaches a shop first (single visit before it vanishes, per their notes), then later encounters The Black. Node order and trial labels are not spelled out in the official demo FAQ, so treat routing as video-specific.

For economy and revive rules that surround any boss, see save file and continue and the demo overview.

What attacks does footage show—and what can you parry?

Laser chains and a spinning multi-hit flurry, with parry or reflect options on some telegraphs but risky counters on others. Amazing Chest documents combined patterns: sustained lasers and a windmill-style multi-hit sequence where parries can negate or reflect beams, while mistimed counters during certain combos can kill the player. That matches the broader demo rule set: many projectiles can be parried back (IGN highlights bullet reflection), but red attacks cannot be parried (both Amazing Chest and Chinese preview notes).

Mechanics shared with other elites—shield icons above the HP bar, each perfect parry removing one pip until a stun window—come from IGN China’s July preview. Apply them to The Black only if you see the same UI in your fight; October demo trials may differ from July stages.

How should you prepare for The Black in the demo?

Enter with healing and revives stocked according to footage, and review parry basics first. Amazing Chest advises refilling repair flasks and bringing enough revives before the fight. Their trial notes four revives with repair flasks restored on revive—helpful context for any boss attempt, though counts may vary by difficulty or patch.

IGN notes the demo is more forgiving than many roguelites, granting extra revives; ENMNEWS echoes that leniency. That does not make The Black free: the same parry challenge warns about lethal punishers on bad counters.

Other bosses seen in community footage

These names come from Amazing Chest subtitles and commentary, not Steam patch notes. Spellings may change when the full game ships.

Halluo (as named in community footage) — Described as an octopus chef boss in a kitchen dojo: bladed heels and tentacles bursting from the floor. IGN China’s July preview separately mentions an octopus-style boss (“章魚哥”) with a stagger “suppression” phase at double damage—similar silhouette, but the July stage list does not match October demo FAQ trials.

The Ravager (as named in community footage) — Presented as a late-trial boss with an opening unblockable sequence plus a grab, a second phase using ground fire and meteors, and a finale where floating armor can be grabbed and finished with lasers. No separate wiki page yet because only subtitle names and one video route document the fight.
